Abstract. In ventilation systems of high-rise residential buildings, where natural inflow and centralized mechanical extraction are provided, constant flow valves play an important role in ensuring a normalized air exchange of apartments throughout the year. The article provides a detailed description of the characteristics of throttling devices, as well as a classification of this type of flow regulators according to various criteria: by the shape of the duct, by the method of actuation, by purpose, by the magnitude of the pressure drop formed, by the presence of insulation, and by the material of manufacture. A description of the generalized principle of operation and aerodynamic characteristics of valves is given, the use of which will improve the quality of performance and adjustment of ventilation systems. Directions for further investigation of the aerodynamic characteristics of constant flow valves are proposed.
