Abstract. The paper analyzes the theoretical foundations and practical methods of using unwashed sea sand for the production of cements with low water consumption. The use of such sand is advantageous due to a number of factors: lower humidity and higher strength compared to ordinary construction sands, as well as minimizing transportation costs for the delivery of raw materials (sand) and the finished product (cement). The technology for producing cement with low water consumption includes crushing of clinker (or the use of high-quality additive cements), drying of unwashed sea sand and joint grinding in a ball mill of these components with a plasticizer. Cements with low water consumption make it possible to obtain concretes and mortars with improved construction, technical and operational characteristics at low logistics costs.
Keywords: clinker, unwashed sea sand, ball mill, cements of low water consumption, construction and technical properties
