Abstract. Currently, radiation sources are widely used in various industries. Radiation-protective materials are used to protect against the harmful effects of radiation. Elastic self-adhesive radiation protection coatings have been developed, which can be quickly installed and dismantled. The quality of such materials is greatly influenced by the mode of preparation of a viscous mixture. The article examines the effect of mixing a mixture for the manufacture of radiation-protective coatings on its quality. The mixture is prepared in a mixer with Z-shaped blades. Mixing must be carried out in a preheated mixer to a certain temperature for one hour. As a result of this mixing mode, the filler particles are evenly distributed in the viscous matrix and the material structure is formed. When exposed to ionizing radiation, minor defects form in this structure, which ensures high radiation resistance.
