Abstract. This article investigates the criteria for assessing the efficiency of welded I-beams with triangularly corrugated webs. The relevance of the study is driven by the growing popularity of such thin-walled structures in construction, which stems from their ability to provide high strength and stiffness characteristics with minimal mass. The paper presents the results of a comprehensive comparative analysis of the economic efficiency of flexural I-beams with triangularly corrugated webs. The research was conducted by comparing them with a wide range of serially produced structures, including hot-rolled I-beams, welded beams with flexible webs, and beams reinforced with transverse stiffeners. The specific cross-sectional area was used as an integral evaluation criterion. It was established that the beams with corrugated webs demonstrate significant superiority over all considered analogues, ensuring a substantial reduction in material intensity while maintaining the required load-bearing capacity. The results of the work prove the high potential of using corrugated beams for creating resource-efficient building structures. The findings allow for the recommendation of such profiles for the development of lightweight and economical structural steel constructions.
