Abstract. The article considers the determination of natural frequencies of a curved pipeline in the form of a toroidal shell. The frequencies are calculated taking into account the influence of internal working pressure, longitudinal compressive force, elastic resistance of the soil, backfilling pressure, as well as geometric characteristics and deformation of the cross section of the shell pipe. An analytical solution for determining the natural frequencies of a toroidal shell is obtained on the basis of a geometrically nonlinear version of the semi-instantaneous theory of toroidal shells, taking into account the combined influence of the above parameters and the impact of the soil. The differential equations of motion of the toroidal shell in displacements are used as the basis for the solution for the case of hinge fastening of the edges of the shell. The above-ground and underground types of pipeline laying with corresponding models of external loads from the ground are presented. The novelty of the work lies in taking into account the combined effect of the elastic resistance of the soil, internal working pressure, longitudinal compressive force and temperature on the dynamic characteristics of pipelines. The results obtained may be useful in further studying the dynamic stability of pipelines.
