Abstract. The results of the design of the reservoir foundation on permafrost soils are presented. Due to the manifestation of rheological properties by highly ice soils, special attention is paid to deformation calculations, including an assessment of the unevenness of the sediment of the center and edge of the slab foundation. The authors of the article selected the uniaxial compression method as the optimal method for studying highly ice soils, and also presented a method for processing the results of uniaxial tests, which makes it possible to obtain a long-term modulus of deformation. The results of uniaxial compression tests at negative temperatures are presented. Based on the research, deformations are calculated according to the formulas of the normative document and numerical modeling in the software package, a comparative assessment of the obtained values of precipitation and precipitation difference is given. A design solution using a soil thermal stabilization system is proposed.
