Abstract. Modern construction requires prompt and effective solutions for the construction of foundations in complex engineering and geological conditions, including heaving soils. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure the reliability and durability of the foundation. A promising solution to this problem is the use of spiral screw piles. The considered version of the foundation has a number of advantages, such as resistance to pulling, ease of arranging the pile field of the future structure, and durability when using an anti-corrosion coating. However, there is a problem of insufficient knowledge of spiral screw Svayber's piles and their effectiveness in heaving soils, which determines the relevance of the study. The article presents the results of field studies of the interaction of such piles with heaving soil during its freezing. The analysis of the main results of field observations of deformations caused by the action of tangential forces of soil heaving on piles is carried out. Comparison of the movement of spiral screw piles and smooth driven piles showed the effectiveness of using a spiral screw pile under the action of soil heaving forces on it.
