Abstract. The aim of the work is to experimentally determine the degree of influence of the color (secondary factor) of the heating device on its heat transfer from the outer surface of the heater to the external environment, in the article is considered in the form of a scientific hypothesis. The study involves the use of basic equations relating the processes of heat transfer from the coolant (water or steam) to the inner surface of the wall of the heating device by convection, then through the separating wall of the device by thermal conductivity, and into the heated room from the outer surface of the wall of the device by radiation, convection and thermal conductivity. Two methods (water, electric) for determining the nominal heat flux of a heater are considered. As a result of the research, the dependence of the influence of the color of the heating device coating on the heat flux density was revealed. It is noted that this effect increases with an increase in the average temperature pressure. With an increase in the surface temperature of the heater, its emissivity increases, as a result of which a change in the heat flux density is observed. The paper presents the dependences of the heat flux density of the heating device on its color.
